We have heard of surfing movies, basketball movies, soccer movies, but did you know there were kiteboarding movies?

The Freeride Project is a set of films about kiteboarding and the freedom when engaging in it. It stars a set of kitesurfers and good friends, Aaron Hadlow, Sam Light, James Boulding and Tom Court and how they view and approach the water sport they love. These four go and travel around the world to ride the waves and compete. Pushing their own boundaries, they explore and discover new spots and capture their adventures with videos that have now turned into this very movie.

Aaron Hadlow is 25 years old from England and he has won the Pro Kiteboard Riders’ Association (PKRA) World Championships for five times already. Sam Light is a professional kiteboarder from the United Kingdom. This 20 year old is the 2009 BKSA Pro Champion. Another product of the United Kingdom is James Boulding. He is a Cabrinha pro rider that is also into movies and photography. Last but not the least, completing the team is Tom Court. He is another United Kingdom local that used to compete a lot in the PKRA. Nevertheless, he began to just participate in invitational events and take the time to travel.

Moving forward, for the first Freeride Project, Aaron, Sam, James and Tom, together with the Dirty Habits crew, went to Australia, the Dominican Republic, Fuerteventura, the Hood River in the United States and the Philippines. This was in 2011. It was a whole year of kitesurfing escapade for these riders.

With the success of the movies first edition that was released in the beginning of 2012, the European boys decided to make another one and it is the Freeride Project 2. For the second one, it was the beauty of Africa that they chose to delve into for another year. Their first stop for the movie is the most popular international tourist destination in Africa, Cape Town.

Following Africa, they traveled to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina for the Triple S event. Then they took off for Russia and Greece and the rest, they want you to look out for it.

Watch the four mens smooth and stylish kiteboarding expertise and see how they have fun while doing this extreme water sport. Witness how they cruise and journey through places and competitions, and scoring kite sponsorships as well.

Both the Freeride Project and the Freeride Project 2 are filmed, edited and produced by Aaron, Sam, James and Tom themselves. You will really see how passionate and zealous in kiteboarding these four are. Moreover, they created these original materials with the aim to promote the sport. They wish that more people get to experience it and to just not focus on competition but enjoyment.

There is no doubt that these projects realize success just the purpose behind them makes them precious and commendable. Heres to hoping these kitesurfers continue what they have started and that others will also follow their footsteps. These guys proved that kiteboarding is a phenomenal sport that is open to anyone, anywhere. Watch and enjoy their movies!
